Check-in is from 3pm and check-out is at 11am. Guests are welcome to arrive earlier or stay on afterwards to use the lounges and explore the castle gardens, grounds and local walks.

Yes. Free private parking is available on site. The drop-off point is through the portcullis and around the turning circle.

From Arundel, follow signs to London and take the third exit onto the B2139 towards Amberley, looking for the white Relais and Chateaux flag on the left. Ignore signs for Amberley Village. Amberley station is a 10 minute walk with direct trains to London.

Yes. Non-resident guests and visitors are very welcome for drinks or dining. We recommend reserving a table in advance to avoid disappointment. Dining is in the 12th century Queen’s Room or the Great Room.

Afternoon tea is served Monday to Sunday from 12.30pm to 4pm in the lounges, the Great Room and on the Terrace. Booking is recommended.

Dogs are welcome to enjoy the grounds and local walks and should be kept on a lead. Dogs are not permitted on the terrace, in the public areas or in the restaurant. Guide dogs and accredited assistance dogs are welcome throughout the hotel.

Yes, children of all ages are welcome. Infants aged 0 to 2 stay free, and children aged 3 to 16 are charged at the same rate as the adults on the booking. Children are welcome in the restaurant until 8pm with last orders at 7pm, and there is a Garden Menu for younger guests.

Amberley Castle has 19 individually designed bedrooms, each named after a Sussex castle, within the walls of a 900 year old castle near Arundel in West Sussex.

Yes. Amberley Castle dates from the 12th century and is enclosed by its original curtain wall, with a working portcullis that is lowered every night. The Great Room dates from 1165. It is a Relais and Chateaux hotel with 4 AA Red Stars and 3 AA Rosettes.

Smart casual is welcome throughout the castle and the restaurant. Most guests dress a little more formally for dinner in the Queen’s Room.

The grounds include an 18 hole putting course, a tennis court, a croquet lawn and two lakes, and you can climb the ramparts for views across the South Downs. Amberley village and the South Downs Way are on the doorstep.

Yes. Amberley Castle hosts weddings, private dining and celebrations in the Queen’s Room and the Great Room, with exclusive use of the castle available. Please enquire for capacities, packages and dates.
